The world is changing, and now Bennetts is too. But then again, we are good at that, we have been evolving and adapting our business for 286 years.
From our early days as Weatherhead Walters & Son in 1734, we have come a long way and seen some challenging times, and now we are going to see some of the most exciting changes in our stores history.

After 286 years our physical store at 8 – 9 Irongate was a little battered and bruised, and it was not possible to carry out the extensive renovations it needs while trading in there. Hence, it seemed like the right time to get our online presence sorted while working on restoring and restructuring our physical store.

We are so excited about the future, and we cannot wait to share that with you. We are working hard on our virtual store, and we hope you will soon be able to shop with us online as Bennetts of Derby becomes visible to the world. We are working just as hard on our physical store, and it is really important that we get that just right so it will be successful for hundreds more years.

Department stores are changing, the high street is changing and evolving, and we will ensure Bennetts will be at the forefront of those changes as it has been for nearly three centuries.

We don’t want to give the game away too early, but you can still expect fabulous quality and service combined with existing as well as new and exciting brands.
Expect fantastic food and drink from two restaurants and a Bar! combined with entertainment and be prepared to expect the unexpected…..
